Focus on ...... - 5th August 2017

This week we focus on a member of the One Voice Community Family!

Emma Snape

Hi Emma, thanks for talking to us. How long have you been in the choir?
I have been in the choir for around 6 years.  My sister Pamela has been involved for many years and she encouraged me to join. I’m so thankful and grateful that she introduced me to this wonderful choir and all its lovely members!
Emma, what’s your involvement in the choir?
As well as being a soprano singer in the choir, I’m on the committee.
What’s your role on the committee?
For the past six months I’ve been the Weddings Booking Officer. I really enjoy the role!
Oooo. That sounds interesting! What does that involve?
It is and I love it!  I’m the first point of contact for couples looking to get married and who want the choir to sing at their wedding. My role is to liaise with the bride and groom-to-be and create ideas on how the choir can make the day extra special, the type of music they want and how they want us to be involved. Once the choir is booked, I liaise with the venue, choir and musical director to ensure everything goes to plan on the day. I always invite the couple to come and visit the choir in rehearsals and it’s great to see their faces when they hear the choir sing!
What do you think is special about the choir?
It is such an uplifting experience! My favourite gigs are the weddings, it's such a magical day and I'm so proud that this wonderful choir brings joy and happiness to couples’ special day.
What do you do when you're not singing in the choir?
I’m a local mortgage adviser. I’ve worked really hard over the past three years and recently passed my CEMAP and equity release exams!
Given how busy you are do you find time for any hobbies Emma?
I sure do! In my spare time I am keen motorhomer. When 5pm arrives on a Friday me, my boyfriend and two big bulldogs get in the motorhome and take a trip to wherever we please.....we love the great outdoors and relaxed lifestyle, it's so much fun.
How does anyone contact you, if they are interested in booking the choir for their wedding?
Its really easy! People can contact me using the booking form in the “contact us” section of our website.
Thanks for your time Emma!
My pleasure!
