Where we're from Where we've been Where we're going

Where we've been

The choir started out in 1999 as a small community arts project, and has continued ever since, becoming a registered charity in 2008.  From its initial roots, the choir has grown to its present line-up of over 65 members.  The choir's journey so far has been exciting, challenging and varied and has included:

  • Fundraising concerts for a wide range of charities
  • Weddings
  • Village fairs
  • Corporate events
  • Commercial recordings
  • Theatre Chorus
  • Civic Events
  • Festivals
  • Commercial and BBC Radio and television assignments
  • Celebrating Preston's City status in the Presence of the Queen
  • Liverpool 08 Year of Culture opening ceremony
  • Recording an album at Abbey Rd Studios
  • Recording Lancashire's song for Children in Need 2009
  • Performance at the 2009 Commonwealth Observance Service at Westminster Abbey in the Presence of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh
  • Successful Admission by Food Concerts for the Salvation Army Foodbank in Preston with a total of approx 7000 items of food donated
  • Finalists in the BBC Songs of Praise Gospel Choir of the Year 2013

The choir continues to enjoy a wide range of progressively more challenging assignments, yet keeps its feet firmly rooted in community spirit.  Whether performing in a castle, cathedral, marketplace, or village green, the same energy and joy is shared with each audience.
